With just $3 to invest, Sara Gullickson founded international cannabis consulting company Dispensary Permits shortly after 2010’s Proposition 203 – which legalized medical marijuana in Arizona. “I’ve always had a passion for health and wellness, so when medical cannabis was legalized in Arizona, it felt like the right opportunity to start my own business,” she says. Now, the 36-year-old, who gave birth to her first child in May, is the CEO of Item 9 Labs.
