Sara Gullickson, CEO of Item 9 Labs Corp., was recently featured in Voyage Phoenix’s article “Meet Sara Gullickson of Item 9 Labs Corp. in Phoenix”.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sara Gullickson.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.

I started my first business at 25, after graduating from Arizona State University. It was a small marketing firm with spa, salon, health, and other lifestyle clients. It was during that time when I was given the opportunity to brand and market a new cannabis company. I quickly fell in love with the plant, the industry, and my role within it.

In 2010 at age 27, I started my own cannabis consulting firm Dispensary Permits, which expanded to include DispensaryTemplates.com, a digital library of cannabis business and licensing templates, as well as Strive Life, a dispensary retail model. In the winter of 2018, Dispensary Permits and its assets were acquired by publicly traded cannabis company Item 9 Labs Corp., where I now serve as CEO.

Though I was raised in Minnesota and a more conservative region of the country, I’ve always thought outside of the box and had an entrepreneurial drive. Coupled with my passion for the wellness sector, it felt natural for me to enter the cannabis space.
